"What if healing isn’t about fixing our conditions but about creating a life that truly fits your body, even in tough times?" -Grace Quantock Hi friends, I’m excited to share that my friend Grace Quantock’s book, Reclaiming Wellness with Chronic Illness, is now available in the U.S. and Canada. Originally published in the U.K. in 2024, it has already sold out once and been restocked! This book is for anyone living with chronic illness or disability who wants to feel less alone—and who longs for guidance from a fellow spoonie.* Grace is a therapist and Disability Justice activist with more than 20 years of lived experience navigating chronic illness. In this book, she directly addresses the structural inequalities that shape healthcare and wellness spaces, while offering compassionate guidance for those moving through them. Her aim is to help shift the narrative so that disabled and chronically ill folks can find more support, build community, and advocate for their needs. It’s also an excellent resource for therapists who work with clients living with chronic illness or disability, and a balm for caretakers supporting loved ones through these journeys. What this book is not: “At a time when wellness is increasingly dominated by individualist bootstrap narratives and conspiritualist thinking, this book refuses all of that and offers real scripts for navigating healthcare when you're marginalized.” If you’ve ever felt adrift in your chronic illness journey, Grace wrote this book for you. She knows the terrain firsthand—endless appointments, advocating for herself, explaining symptoms again and again, the loneliness, and the gaslighting. Reading this book feels like a friend holding your hand as you navigate medical and wellness systems that, let’s be honest, are often not designed with chronically ill people in mind. Support a fellow spoonie so that more change-making stories like this can get out in the world. Here’s how you can get the book:
The US edition is edited and expanded from the UK version, with additional content for navigating American healthcare systems. Special bonus! You can get Grace's Scanxiety Program to support you through waiting for scans and scary test results. See below! With care, ♥️🌊 Adina p.s. Join me for tomorrow's MELT and More Class at Noon on Tuesday, March 10. MELT and More is a weekly 45-minute class rooted in The MELT Method, a gentle self-treatment approach designed to help you mitigate chronic pain, improve mobility, and rehydrate connective tissue (fascia) using soft rollers and balls. Each class begins with MELT and weaves in complementary somatic and awareness-based practices to help restore ease of movement, balance, and stability. The March DIVE Class of 2026 will be on Thursday, March 26, from 3:00–5:00 PM. DIVE classes are like mini-retreats. They combine MELT, Continuum, and other fascia-based approaches, and there is time to check in. There’s also open-ended discovery time where you can rest and explore at your own pace. $45 (sliding scale available). All are welcome! If you’d like to join us, you can register here. Questions? Just hit reply — I’m happy to help! |
"When the world feels relentlessly heavy, imagination becomes a refuge—not an escape, but a way of refueling the spirit, of making sense of things.”-- Suleika Jaouad So join me for a few minutes as we go under the sea together… Hi friends, So, fish gotta swim, and so do we. Did you ever think about how fish move?… Like, how do they do that side-to-side motion that moves them through oceans, rivers, and streams…through the liquid, viscous substance that they live and breathe in? Remember...
Hi friends, We'll be doing a deep dive into the side body for Tuesday, March 17's 45-minute MELT and More Class at Noon ET. We'll explore and unwind the lateral line of fascia that starts in your foot and travels all the way up your side body to your jaw! Do you have side-body issues? Does one side always cramp up and hurt? Is there an old injury on one side that's always throwing things off-kilter? Let's see if we can open up this line a bit and get you some ease and flow. You can register...
You may not see it now," said the Princess of Pure Reason, looking knowingly at Milo's puzzled face, "but whatever we learn has a purpose and whatever we do affects everything and everyone else, if even in the tiniest way. Why, when a housefly flaps his wings, a breeze goes round the world; when a speck of dust falls to the ground, the entire planet weighs a little more; and when you stamp your foot, the earth moves slightly off its course. Whenever you laugh, gladness spreads like the...
